  Wow! Over 1400 folks visited our studios during the latest 2024 edition of the Santa Monica Airport Artwalk. Thanks to all the folks who visited my studio and engaged with me, my family, and my art. Producer and creator Austin Ross and his partner the amazing (The Harder They Fall) Annabel Durst brought scintillating energy into my studio. My recent painted homage to Basquiat found a moment with Austin while  @sergioarau  looked on from the background with a copy of  @la_weather_novel  by  @mariaescandon  in his hands. Good vibes, good folks, good hope! Travel can involve a physical relocation or it can exist in the realm of the senses. In 2006 I attended "A Gathering of Hearts Illuminating Compassion," an interfaith meeting in San Francisco. The Dalai Lama was the keynote speaker at the event. He entered the packed hall, briskly moved up the center aisle, but stopped briefly to greet an elderly Tibetan woman a few feet from where I was seated. The finitude and yet vastness of both our deeds and the cosmos through a fleeting moment of contemplation. "But We Had Music" is a poem written by Maria Popova, performed here by Nick Cave and transformed into animation by Daniel Bruson, using charcoal drawings, light caustics and optical distortions with glass. The film was made as part of the seventh annual Universe in Verse — a many-hearted labor of love, celebrating the wonder of reality through science and poetry, that took place on April 7th, 2024, on the eve of a total solar eclipse. Gregg Chadwick The Bicycle Rider - Verona (Il Ciclista) 40"x30" oil on linen 2024 Back in the studio after a sojourn to Pebble Beach, California. Just put the finishing touches on my latest painting. My oil on linen artwork "The Bicycle Rider - Verona (Il Ciclista)" is set in the city center of Verona, Italy. Inspired by an art residency I had in this magical city, "The Bicycle Rider" celebrates the beauty and mystery of contemporary life. As day moves to night, a red headed woman stands tall near her bicycle in the Piazza delle Erbe, the ancient Roman forum of Verona. Has her journey ended or just started?
